A quickie design because I couldn’t think of any decent secondary logos (Hermanos Pollos as a sponsor just didn’t work). It’s just Heisenberg wearing a gas mask on a danger symbol that’s on a jersey adorned with the RV colors, so plenty of symbolism already! Maybe one day I’ll spruce it up a bit.

The Roughnecks is based on the uniforms the troopers wore in the first film (I’ve yet to see the sequels), so that meant omitting the waist stripe. However I did add arm stripes, because it’s not a hockey jersey without arm stripes in my opinion. Secondary logos are in keeping with the uniform as well, but I didn’t include the ‘fist-holding-knife’ logo seen on the right shoulder because it would get too expensive to make this jersey, so I twinned the diamond logo.
The main crest features some dark humor: it is loosely based on the Raid logo; mainly the outline shape as well as the extensive use of lightning bolts.
The wings seen at the top of the main crest are a loose interpretation of the pins worn by the Mobile Infantry. The eagle is drawn in the style of those wings. A lightning bolt at the neck line is a nod to Roughnecks as a nickname.
Lastly I moved the ’6′ from the secondary logos to the main logo so I could place the Federation ‘Thunderbird’ logo on those instead.

Was doing some housecleaning and I inadvertently deleted the image files for these two jersey designs. Rather than upload the original images, I updated both designs. Jurassic Park is based on the jeep from the first film, Last Starfighter is based on the arcade cabinet seen in the film.
No plans to make these available, sorry!
I have already made designs for all of these characters, but decided to give them a new coat of paint and assemble them all in one place. Wonder Woman gets an all-new design, Superman now has a contemporary logo, and the remaining get minor tweaks.
The only way any of these are made available is if I do a Kickstarter to raise funds to procure an apparel license from DC Comics, so not very likely! Sorry.

UPDATE: I revised the jersey design – got a better look at the Wolverine logo (he has teeth for starters), and removed the ‘High’ from Calumet patch. Also added a variant design. Original post as follows:
This design is based on the letterman jacket the kids wore in the film Red Dawn (*sigh!* the 1984 original). I usually don’t like such bare arms but they’re okay here. In keeping with the High School theme a hockey patch indicating Calumet High is used, though if this were to go into production ‘High’ would be nixed (most of us no longer being in school).
Also the Wolverine logo is pretty ugly, so instead of making that fella the primary crest he sits on the back. Though I’m tempted to remove him altogether.
Might make this available down the road, seeing as it is not infringing. Please like, tweet, comment, or send a messenger raven to let me know you want one.
Now…I feel like I should be exclaiming something…the word escapes me.

Just a generic NASCAR team converted into a hockey jersey. Nothing to see here. Move along!
UPDATE: I was just being coy and this was a design for the stock car from the film Drive. A few readers hoped this was the car from Talladega Nights, so I did a cursory Google check and found the two cars look almost identical – enough to make me think it is the exact same car:
For Drive it looks like swapped out the engine hood for a white one, the sponsor decals on the right side of the car were removed, a yellow skirt was added, and it looks like the Old Spice logos were painted over (lower left image). Same tires, same window fixtures, it has to be the same car! A neat Easter egg?
Also I think the General Lee can be seen when Irene and Benicio visit the garage.

Check out this fancy pants design based on Ash of the Evil Dead franchise. Groovy, if I may say so. Hard to believe that it’s been 21 years since Army of Darkness bowed, and they are finally talking about a 4th film (in addition to the remake hitting theaters on April 5th).
For those not familiar with the NHL, this design is based on the Johnny Canuck logo used (sparingly) by the Vancouver Canucks. So in keeping with the logo the rest of the jersey is very Canucks-ish. I hope you appreciate how difficult this was for me — a Flames fan — to make.
The design on the left is what I would like to see, with the white BOOMSTICKS name arched above the logo (much like the Canucks home jersey), but I’m not sure if Rinkgear could do that (maybe a sublimated name and embroidered Ash?), so the design on the right would be the production-safe alternative with the shield logo.

The third iteration of the Browncoats jersey is done, and they will be shipping out next week for those who ordered one. Ain’t she a beaut! Thanks again to Geeky Jerseys (aka Rinkgear) for their hard work putting these custom jersey designs together.
The Mudders and Crusaders jerseys will be done in the coming weeks. The Browncoats will be back sometime later this year, so stay tuned for those.

The third Zelda/Link design is based on Dark Link, the evil version of Link who has appeared in several games (and was paid homage to in that Scott Pilgrim movie). Might make this one available if there is enough interest.

I am pleased to announce that Rinkgear has completed work on the team orders for the Crusaders (a design inspired by the ’66 Batmobile), and the Jaynestown Mudders. They’ll be shipping out this week for those who ordered.
I’m a little biased, but that Crusaders jersey might be Rinkgear’s best work ever. I certainly appreciate their efforts here; I was worried they’d have trouble lining up all the stripes. However they knocked this one out of the park. Awesome work, Rinkgear!
No plans for an encore of the Crusaders design.

Next up is the Jaynestown Mudders! It was offered in tandem with Browncoats 3.0, which was completed last week. It looks like something Jayne Cobb would wear with pride. So very shiny.

I think this jersey would look great with a Jayne hat, which you can find at Thinkgeek for $25 — should you have a hankerin’ for Jayne attire.

Not that I am easily amused, but I laughed quite a bit while making this (and not my usual maniacal laugh). I guess because monkeys are just inherently funny (well, at least to us guys).
A great way to represent Fight Club: a monkey (ready to be shot into space!) on a Philadelphia Flyers style jersey. The orange astronaut suit matches the Flyers colors perfectly. The only thing that doesn’t mesh is the pink Fight Club logo, so I made an orange alternate (soap comes in orange too, why not?).
I will admit, this would look great on a football kit, because of the ‘FC’ initials from the shield logo. Usually FC stands for Football Club, but here, well, y’know.
No plans to make this available.

The first Lannister jersey was offered on my other blog, but unfortunately I did some housekeeping recently and it’s now gone! Anyways here is the 2.0 version, which I fashioned after the most recent Direwolves design.
It’s a white away jersey this time, so it can go head-to-head with the Direwolves perfectly. The sigil patch features Jaime Lannister’s sword (which is probably Kingsguard in origin but I’ll use some artistic license here), and the crown to signify the Lannister’s current rule.
I also had Targaryen 3.0 design ready to go but decided to go back to the drawing board on it. I want it to look more like the Direwolves and Lions in appearance, so look out for that soon.
Game of Thrones-inspired jerseys will be back in the coming weeks. Just waiting for Rinkgear to put the finishing touches on Direwolves 5.0 and Baratheon 1.0 first. Please stay tuned for announcements!

Today we have a couple of Portal designs loosely-based on the jumpsuits worn by protagonist Chell in both Portal games. The orange jersey gets my own take on the Aperture logo, which is more hockey-like than the wordmark logo (seen on the white jersey). Pretty simple fare, due to the jumpsuits looking a lot like prison uniforms.

Another work of art has been completed by Geeky Jerseys (the artists formerly known as Rinkgear), and it looks amazing! Their best yet? Ghostbusters fans might think so.
These will be shipping out at the end of next week (April 10-12) for those who ordered. Geeky Jerseys will email tracking info for North American customers at that time.
In the coming weeks Spaceballs, Direwolves 5.0, and Royals will be completed, stay tuned for those.

As promised when I did a Wu-Tang hockey jersey design last year, here is a Public Enemy jersey. As you can see it looks almost identical to the Spaceballs jersey, that’s because I made this just before that design was posted.
The Ben 10 jersey is old news, but the Alpha Flight design hasn’t been posted here (was previously something I posted on Facebook). It got a good reception, maybe offer it for Canada Day? The maple leaf actually extends to the back too, but It made reading the back number difficult, no matter what I did color-wise for said number.
And lastly a fun logo design I made for Highlander, in the vein of the Minnesota Wild green alternate jersey. It’s a bit too goofy for me to take to a completed hockey jersey design as-is. Maybe one day I can make a more mature version.
UPDATE: Here is a Spinal Tap hockey jersey. I wanted to make it all black, but I don’t like practice jerseys.

Taking a page from the recent Red Dawn design, this Sunnydale Slayers jersey is also based on a letterman jacket seen in the show.
I still hope to do a proper ‘Slayers’ design one day, at least one that is not too graphic (like a Vampire being impaled by a stake).

Ah spring is in the air (albeit a few weeks late here in Canada), and that means Baseball season. And for my first baseball jersey design I thought I’d enlist Doctor Who, which has been a popular item for hockey jerseys. Here’s hoping it looks good on the jersey of the American pastime as it does for the Canadian one.
I’ve long pledged to break out into other sports here, I just have a lot more fun with hockey jerseys due to the bigger canvas. That said I do enjoy the aesthetics of baseball, and enjoy the style of many teams. The above jersey is a homage to the Los Angeles Dodgers, a team that has a timeless look to their uniforms.
At this time Geeky Jerseys does not make custom baseball jerseys, but that could change quickly so stay tuned. Also I don’t know the frequency in which I’ll be posting baseball designs, but I’ll try to get to them whenever I can.
The word ‘Ghostbusters’ sits perfectly on a baseball jersey. That’s all I really have to say!

Back to hockey jersey designs (put down the pitch forks and douse the torches), and today for your viewing pleasure a real space agency is featured: NASA. With all the patches and stripes, an astronaut suit translate to a hockey jersey really well.
In addition to the NASA logos you’d also have a country flag, a front nametag, and a few mission logos. Makes for a clean design, if I may say so.
And for those asking I plan on doing some military jerseys (Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, etc.), which isn’t exactly a new idea, but I hope to bring my own spin to the concept.
Another NHL/geek mashup today, this time the Ottawa Senators get a Marvin the Martian makeover. This one is a no-brainer, as the franchise logo has often been compared to the Looney Tunes character*. Even longtime Sens goalie Patrick Lalime had Marvin prominently featured on his goalie mask.
I had to Ottawa-ify the Mars flag, because in the cartoon it looked essentially the same as Japan’s national flag (red circle on white backdrop). Not that there is anything wrong with Japan’s flag, I just want to avoid confusion. This version of the flag mimics the Sens’ shoulder patches (those feature a black ‘O’ instead of the red planet).
*And for better or worse the Trojan condoms logo.
